I walk towards my workplace after a quick cafe break: a vision of paradise, blue sky; golden rays mean one thing to me: I’m not back at work yet. I realise this calculation and focus again, upon the blue sky and golden rays, Nature keeps these miraculous days rolling on. I am choosing the life of a workaholic.
We workaholics anonymous have our own blue sky and golden rays: acceptable stock-loss and an operating ratio of <95%. Meanwhile, they say I should go out on weekends, you’re only young once, live a little- I feel alive when the alarm wretches me from sleep- an adrenaline rush as I enter this minefield of praise and blame, in their little ways, making each day interesting and unpredictable, stimulating dopamine.
For some it’s being together with family, for others it’s playing sports, watching sports, making investments and watching them change, we all fall into some kind of treasure hunt for the chemicals that have guided our organic bodies to this point in time.
As you hear the final phrases of Retail Demi-God, revel in your ability to
Connect the dots
See the bigger picture
Forgive the unrelenting and unforgivable aspects of life
Delight your stakeholders
and own your power in being animalistic and divine.
Thank you for travelling with me, fellow Demi-God.
